Everything! The location is superb (you're legitimately staying in a world heritage site and in the house that used to belong to one of its most famous engineers), it's walkable as well as good for cycling and with ample space for cars. The beds were very comfortable and the interior design beautiful. Everything was very well thought out, well managed, and signposted. The breakfast bags were insanely generous!

A really lovely city and very welcoming to visitors.
A really lovely city and very welcoming to visitors. Everywhere we went the people we polite and helpful. I can't recall a bad experience from our trip. The mine is a must-do, in particular the little café near the edge of the pit is a gem. There is a co-op supermarket opposite the mine that is a great place to shop (yes, I'm actually excited about a supermarket it was that nice!) and did the lake near the city centre is surrounded my a lovely park and path to walk along. It is located only 10 minutes away from Falun's city center by car in the middle of beautiful nature. The best part of our whole stay was meeting our hosts Elisabeth and Per-Erik. They were the most warm and friendly people we met on our trip and made our stay truly memorable. We got our own two-room cottage with our own kitchen and living room so privacy was guaranteed. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable.

In the cottage, everything is perfect down to the last detail - from the main living-/bedroom to the kitchen and private sauna. Around the cottage, there are several hiking trails within walking distance, and by car it’s a few minutes to the city of Falun or -during winter time- the skiing areas of Borlänge and Bjursås. Many beautiful cross-country slopes are also close by.

It’s a small house with nice authentic rooms and it’s like staying in a real Swedish home. The staff was super friendly and kind, the breakfast was so delicious with fruit and vegetables and fresh orange juice!
